Has Neve Campbell been on "Grey's" before? Will Neve Campbell be on "Grey's" again? Come on, does that truly make any difference -- the only thing that matters is the here and the now, and Neve Campbell is on "Grey's Anatomy" in the here and now (ie, tonight). So, ask not what has happened to Neve's character in the past. Ask not what will happen to Neve's character in the future. Ask only what will occur to Neve's character today. Concern yourself only with that. We think you may just be glad you did.

We would like to take a minute to tell you what you can expect this season on "Grey's Anatomy." Are you ready? Okay, here we go -- there will be professional problems, personal problems, tough cases, and probably the departure of at least one member of the cast. Pretty good, right? It kind of makes us wish we could place a bet on such a thing in Vegas. We have given you four different things which will, almost certainly, take place and we have absolutely no inside knowledge whatsoever. Surely such a skill is worth something.

We would really like to do this whole description of the season finale in rhyme (mostly because 'great' rhymes with 'eight' and it's season eight that's ending tonight). We're not going to do that though, because it feels like the sort of pandering that occurs when we have already repeatedly promoted a long-running television show and are looking to shake things up a little bit. So, as much fun as it may be to give a Seussian lyric here and do something outside the box, we will instead simply state that tonight is the "Grey's Anatomy" season finale, tune in and see what goes down.

Vanessa Marano of ABC Family's "Switched at Birth" is going to be on "Grey's Anatomy" tonight. We can't say we know much about her character or storyline except that her character's name is 'Holly Weeler.' Loretta Devine on the other hand has been on the series an awful lot and in her case, we're not going to tell you all that much about her character because it would take way too long (seriously, have you watched the show?) So, tune in tonight and get your guest star action on.

We have read the description of tonight's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" and it very clearly mentions that sci-fi darling Summer Glau ("Firefly," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," "Dollhouse") is going to be guest starring tonight. The thing of it is, the episode summary itself doesn't mention Glau's role at all. We therefore have to assume that the actress will be playing a cyborg from the future who has had her mind wiped into believing that she's a medical resident on a mission to get hot and heavy with various other doctors in the hospital. Later in the episode she may have her mind wiped again so that she believes herself to be an orderly, we're just not certain.

Do you ever just wonder 'what if?' What if you had said hello to that ridiculously, ludicrously, insanely hot person on the subway? What if you had gotten those reservations at that swanky restaurant? What if things had turned out just a little bit different? Tonight on "Grey's Anatomy," Meredith will be wondering that exact thing -- well, not what if she had gotten the reservation or said hello to that ridiculously hot person, but what if things had worked out slightly differently. Kate Walsh and Kate Burton both return tonight to help Meredith's dream along.

This episode marks Kevin McKidd's directorial debut. No, not his "Grey's Anatomy" directorial debut, his actual, factual directorial debut. Prior to tonight, Kevin McKidd has not directed anything professionally. Oh sure, maybe he did a student film here or there, or maybe he's taken some movies on his iPhone, but that stuff doesn't quite count in the same way. This being the case, don't expect McKidd's character to appear a whole lot in the episode, but know that the man himself is right there behind the camera throughout.

The amazing thing about doctor/hospital shows is the number of famous guest stars they're able to get for one of two different guest-starring roles that they offer - the new guy/gal who is going to shake things up at the office/hospital and the patient who is dying. Scott Foley will be playing the latter this week which is not to say that he certainly will die, just that he is in the process of dying. We'd actually one day like to see someone take on the role of the dying administrator who is going to shake things up, but don't think Foley will be doing that.

We tend to not believe that drugs cause will be the cause, but Richard, Bailey, and Callie will all be experiencing flashbacks tonight. Sarah Paulson ("Down with Love") gets to play a younger Ellis Grey and J. August Richards will be a younger Richard Webber. Perhaps we'll see Richards get to wield a scalpel, but, sadly, the odds that he'll be whipping out a stake (or a legal brief) are certainly minimal. Unless Angelus makes an appearance too, but that would feel like an odd turn for "Grey's Anatomy" to take.

Time to update the "Grey's Anatomy" scorecard. Teddy Altman (Raver) arrives this week at the behest of Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) whom she worked with during in the Iraq War. Izzie (Katherine Heigl) comes back tonight as well, and while she loves the guy she's bringing with her, it's more of a mentor-mentee love. Could the mentor be Joel Grey-No-Relation-to-the-Anatomy? Hope you've only been marking that scorecard in pencil, because it may be time to take out the eraser.

Will George die? Will Izzie die? Will Meredith and Derek have a real, non Post-It wedding? Will Christina and Dr. Hunt finally make it work? These are just some of the questions in need of answers during the sixth season premiere. However, the recent announcement that T.R. Knight has officially left the show pretty much answers the first one.

Some shows go subtle for their 100th episodes. We somehow suspect that "Grey's Anatomy" is going to go all sorts of melodramatic with this semi-landmark episode.
With series creator Shonda Rhimes writing, the 100th episode features the build-up to a wedding, another medical emergency for Izzie, plus some medical stuff, just for fun.

We don't blame you if you stopped watching during the whole "Izzie's Having Sex With a Ghost" thing, but if you were ever a fan of "Grey's Anatomy" before, the Ghost Sex is in the past and now would be a good time to return.
In this Thursday's (March 26) episode, titled "Elevator Love Letter," Derek returns for his first surgery since his breakdown. What? You thought he was done for good? Sigh. So trusting. And Izzie faces her own medical future.
Expect tears. Lots of tears.

Mark (Eric Dane ) attempts a face transplant surgery this week, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) tries to convince Derek (Patrick Dempsey) to come back to work and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) tries to keep her medical condition a secret (until it forces her to leave the show of course). Just some of the dramatic elements in: "Stand by Me."

Things are tough for McDreamy!
Patients have been dying. He's been brawling with McSteamy in the halls of Seattle Grace. After learning at a deposition that more of his patients have died than survived, Derek decides to quit.
Yikes. Is Patrick Dempsey leaving "Grey's Anatomy"? No. It's just a story-arc, kids.
In other news, Izzie's interns continue to inadvertently attempt to diagnose her as we get closer and closer to learning what was up with all of that ghost sex.

The seemingly never-ending "Grey's Anatomy"/"Private Practice" crossover continues as Kate Walsh's Addison sticks around Seattle Grace to continue to bicker with her ex-husband about the same trying case they've been dealing with for three episodes now.
In addition to Walsh, the episode features a guest appearance by Oscar winner Faye Dunaway, who hasn't done much network TV since "The Starlett."
