It's been a short but wild ride for Echo, Topher, and the rest of the folks in the dollhouse on "Dollhouse," but that ride comes to a close this evening. Tonight we get the series finale of Joss Whedon's creation. We're expecting revelations, endings, new beginnings, and a twist or six as the show concludes. We're going to miss Echo as she goes to that big attic in the sky, but maybe she'll be able to find the sort of solace and contentment in reruns and DVD releases that she was never able to find during her first-run life. Farewell Echo, we hard knew ye.

We are not foolish, we quite understand that the ratings are down for "Dollhouse," but we also understand two other things - the show has had pretty fantastic episodes this season and Joss Whedon has a way of putting together great finales. Tonight isn't actually the finale itself, that is next week, but with the way things have been heading this season to understand all the wondrousness of next week's episode, it is going to be utterly essential to watch this week's as well.

There are in total only 13 episodes of "Dollhouse" this season, and tonight FOX is giving us episodes nine and 10. With the season winding down oh-so-quickly we can hopefully expect the revelations to come at an even more rapid pace. The second episode tonight is entitled 'The Attic,' so, with any luck, we should get a peek into exactly where the dolls go once Topher and company are done playing with them. Is it possible that our dear Echo is going to get sent there? Well, the episode description does talk about her being "deemed to dangerous" and "sent into her worst nightmare," so maybe.

"Dollhouse" continues to careen through it's second season with back-to-back episodes again this week. We are getting episodes seven and eight of season two tonight. Perhaps more importantly than the episode numbers though is the fact that Alan Tudyk is back as Alpha this week, and that means that we're in for all sorts of crazy. In fact, someone out there is killing some of Echo's old romantic engagements, and the muckety-mucks in the Dollhouse are putting there money on Alpha. Murder does seem like the sort of thing Alpha enjoys too, so they may just be right.

Summer Glau guest stars as "Dollhouse" airs episodes 5 and 6 of this, its final season. They're only getting 13 episodes this time out, so we're approaching that halfway point. Just because the show is cancelled though is no reason to not watch. Whedon is a good storyteller with a great approach and we think he may have a surprise or two still in store for us.

In last season's finale, Echo was kidnapped by Alpha in an attempt to imprint her with a new personality. In addition, Dr. Saunders discovered that she was once a doll and Ballard's search for the dollhouse ended with him having to make a difficult decision. The sci-fi serial drama returns for another season.

Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" has its season finale on FOX. Note that we said "season" finale and not "series" finale.
If, however, you want to see what happens next season with Echo (Eliza Dushku) and the rest of the actives (assuming the Dollhouse still exists after finale), it may be time to start letting FOX know.
FOX has a bunch of teases about the episode. Let's just say the mysterious Alpha is involved and that one Doll will be deactivated for good.
Tune in, eh? The episode is titled "Omega."

Friday night's "Dollhouse," titled "Briar Rose," is the penultimate episode of the first season and time is running out for Joss Whedon's latest creation to show the kind of ratings bump that might force FOX's hand on renewal.
Helping manners is Whedon favorite Alan Tudyk. FOX is bound and determined to spoil the nature of Tudyk's guest appearance. We wouldn't dare.
Instead, we'll just tell you to tune in.

Last week was the "Dollhouse" episode that got all the hype, but this week is the "Dollhouse" episode that gets star Eliza Dushku in fishnet-type leggings.
Titled "Echoes," the episode finds Echo being imprinted as a college student to get information on a viral outbreak. In the process, though, we learn much more about the coed she used to be.
Joss Whedon has promised this week's episode has more humor.

Who will Eliza Dushku's Echo get to play on this week's episode of "Dollhouse"?
Well, when a pop star is threatened by a crazed fan, Echo has to go undercover -- or, well, get imprinted with the personality as -- a backup singer.
Meanwhile, Ballard's (Tahmoh Penikett) investigations lead him down a dangerous path in the episode titled "Stage Fright."
