2 Broke Girls

Have we been down with everything that's happened on "Two Broke Girls" this season? No, no we haven't, but there unquestionably have been bits and pieces and odds and ends that we've enjoyed and we hope that tonight's back-to-back episodes are filled with those moments... well, new versions of those moments (we are not looking for a clip show). Will they be bringing the funny tonight and leave viewers with a good taste in their mouth before they head out for the summer hiatus? Keep those fingers crossed.

Here we are, the end of October and the return of "2 Broke Girls." The show's fourth season premiere was delayed somewhat due to "The Big Bang Theory" airing on Mondays which was, in turn, due to Thursday Night Football taking up that show's regular haunt. But, that's all over now. Tonight, "2 Broke Girls" is back and you can be sure of one thing -- no matter how well things might be going for them, Max is still going to have some snarky comments. What, we ask, would the show be without Max's snarky comments?

It was in March of this year that CBS renewed 18 current series, including "2 Broke Girls." As they will be heading into their fourth season in the fall, we would like to suggest to them that they are no longer broke. If you work out the potential salary of the stars through three years of ratings success and the order of a fourth season, well, the number aren't small. Perhaps the actresses could lend the character some money and things could rapidly change on the show. Now that is a breaking of the fourth wall we'd like to see.

For much of this season, "2 Broke Girls" has aired at 8:30pm. Tonight though, that changes. Tonight, the series moves to 8:00pm. But, that's what you call "burying the lede." Lindsay Lohan is going to be on tonight's episode of "2 Broke Girls," which is the more important part of what we're telling you here in this paragraph while the less important (but only slightly less important) bit is the fact that you can watch it all go down at 8:00pm instead of the later hour at which the show used to air.

We would very much like to tell you that season two of "2 Broke Girls" is going to end with two episodes where the two women do something twice. That isn't the case though, there's only going to be one episode and we're not entirely sure what it's going to entail. It may entail the end of all their hopes and dreams. It may entail the fulfillment of all their hopes and dreams. It may entail their getting tails. Whatever the case may be, it entails something (probably they don't get tails though, that would be weird). Hopefully it's a happy ending, we hate sad endings.

People, there is a way to be funny, to craft jokes, to create humor. Tonight on "2 Broke Girls," Andy Dick will be guest starring as a puppeteer, and not just any puppeteer, a puppeteer named J. Petto. See, so not only do you get the funny from having Andy Dick on, you get another bit of funny from his character's name. What joke exactly will Max make when she hears that there is a puppeteer named J. Petto? We don't know, but if it doesn't involve bits of anatomy growing when lies are told or, potentially, getting eaten by a whale, an opportunity will have been missed.

A new pre-approved credit card causes a little bit of stress between Max and Caroline, who have different ideas on what to charge on the card; Earl's estranged son arrives in New York with hopes of becoming a stand-up comedian.

As is well know to those who watch the show on a regular basis, Max and Caroline are moving forward with this whole cupcake dream (as a side note, why haven't there been more jokes where some rude guy overhears a cupcake conversation and refers to Max or Caroline as a 'cupcake' that seems like a well you can't go to too much). Tonight, they get an intern named Ruth, an intern named Ruth played by Abby Elliott from "Saturday Night Live." So, watch to find out what is happening with the cupcake business and watch because you want to see Abby Elliott on this show (and watch and root for jokes revolving around calling women 'cupcake').

Many folks out there will know Ryan Hansen from "Veronica Mars" and a handful of folks will know him from "Party Down." As for us, we know him from the shots of his lovely blonde hair... ah, if we only had hair like that what we couldn't accomplish. But, we digress. Hansen is going to be on "2 Broke Girls" again tonight where he will be portraying Caroline's beau. That does, quite honestly, make a little bit more sense than him being Max's beau... Max might find him attractive, but we still can't see her going with someone with his looks. If you ask us, Max needs someone angry and potentially toothless.

Johnny's girlfriend has a devious plan in mind as she hires Max and Caroline to bake cupcakes for an art show she's having featuring some of Johnny's work.

Where do you know Jennifer Coolidge from? Well, perhaps you know her from her appearance on "2 Broke Girls" earlier this season. Perhaps you know her from "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," or maybe it's her role as Stifler's Mom in "American Pie" that first comes tom mind when you think of her. Jennifer Coolidge is in fact all of those women, because they are the same woman. Coolidge will be returning to "2 Broke Girls" tonight, reprising her role as Sophie, the upstairs neighbor. With any luck that will mean that most of the story will take place outside the diner this week.
