Let's hear it for a gender-bent version of the Mummy.

Universal is reportedly in talks with Sofia Boutella ("The Kingsman") to play the undead Egyptian priest in the studio's upcoming reboot of the classic monster film. Here's a photo of the actress, in case you need reminding (or an introduction):

If the reports turn out to be true, Boutella may join rumored star Tom Cruise (there are conflicting reports as to the superstar actor's attachment) in the reboot, which is set to be directed by Alex Kurtzman ("People Like Us") from a script by Jon Spaihts ("Prometheus"). It would be the first film in the studio's multi-film Universal Monster reboots, which is slated for release on March 24, 2017.

Boutella recently wrapped her role in "Star Trek Beyond," the third film in the sci-fi franchise. You can watch Drew's "Kingsman" interview with she and Samuel L. Jackson above.
