For some inexplicable reason, there’s a National Superhero Day. But for those keeping track of these sorts of things, today is that day.

Legend has it that Superhero Day began in 1995 when a group of Marvel interns put on costumes and began asking the general public what their desired superpower would be. While no one asked me, my superpower would be either flying (Who wouldn’t want to bypass the lines at TSA?) or mind control (These aren’t the droids you’re looking for).

Considering there’s seemingly a new superhero movie every month, the next being Captain America: Civil War on May 6, Superhero Day is as topical now as it’ll ever be.

To celebrate the day, Krispy Kreme is giving customers their version of kryptonite. Visitors who purchase a dozen donuts receive 12 more for free.

On a related note, it’s also National Blueberry Pie Day.  Celebrate accordingly.
