Warning: spoilers for The Flash season 2 finale, "The Race of His Life," follow...

I love time travel. Well, I should say that I'm a big fan of time travel fiction, because I've certainly never experienced it in my own life and as the years progress I realize it would proabably be more trouble than it's worth to try and "correct" my personal history.

I would not say no to a turn or two in the TARDIS, though.

Here's a standard time travel trope: often the attempt to improve a given situation sets off a disastrous domino effect making everything far, far worse.

So it's interesting that in its sophomore finale The Flash set up a storyline -- Flashpoint -- that has the potential to give us either an outstanding third season, or...

By resetting the clock -- and thus this universe -- did the writers, like Barry, just make the best or worst move in the show's history.

Alan Sepinwall and Roth Cornet discuss the decision and the potential consequences in the video above or below.
