Legendary music artist Prince died Thursday at his estate in Chanhassen, MN, according to TMZ. He was 57.

His passing follows an emergency landing his private plane made last Friday when he was rushed to the hospital. No further information about the circumstances of his death were available at the time of publishing this post.

Throughout his career, the prolific singer, born Prince Rogers Nelson, made his mark on rock, R&B, soul, funk, disco, and pop music. He released his debut album For You in 1978 and was still making music this year, performing this spring on his Piano & a Microphone tour.
