Michael Shannon starred opposite Henry Cavill in Man of Steel. But that doesn’t mean he gives a bat’s ass about the outcome of Batman v Superman.

“I’m so utterly unconcerned with the outcome of that fight,” he told Vulture. “So profoundly, utterly unconcerned. I can’t even come up with a fake answer.”

But then he did proceed to come up with an answer, one that would make Superman even less child-friendly than the grimdark tormented take on the character in BvS:

“I guess I have to root for Superman because he killed me, so I would hope that he would continue his killing spree and become like a serial killer Superman. That’s a new take on Superman. We’d all be in a heap of trouble if Superman was a serial killer. He could just wipe us all out. But then he’d be lonely.”

Vulture asked several actors and comics critics to predict who would win in the epic gladiator match. (Though, of course, those who turned out for the Thursday night screenings of the film already know how that fight ends.) Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, and Zachary Levi are among those who weigh in. From the realm of DC TV shows, Robin Lord Taylor and Laura Benanti supply their two cents. The Supergirl actress said, “How do I think [Superman] would win? Just smoldering good looks.” Valid theory. But a little awkward, coming from Superman’s aunt.
