It's the big finale, and our final three will be competing for a chance at getting a character arc of seven episodes on "Glee." Considering that "The Glee Project" has been a lot  more entertaining than "Glee" lately, I'm not sure if this is the big reward it used to be, but everyone seems excited about it nonetheless.

Robert comes in to tell them, duh, the theme is Glee-ality. And their homework assignment is "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray. Our three finalists are sad and happy and… well, they're just emotional. Robert has one last thing to say -- they will have some amazing back-up vocalists for this last assignment. And, hey, it's the eliminated castmates.

They all flood into the room and there's hugging and tears. Ali steps forward to take charge of the rehearsal, as she wants to win this thing. Aylin is grateful Ali has stepped forward, because she doesn't know what to do.

Our final guest mentor is… Chris Colfer (Kurt on "Glee"). He initially auditioned for the role of Artie, and while he wasn't right for Artie, Ryan created a role for him. So, Chris wants to talk to them about how to get Ryan to create roles for them. But wait! It's time for "You Can't Stop the Beat"!

It's… okay. Blake is Blake, which is to say consistent as always, but his singing has never really wowed me. Aylin, oddly, seems a little uncomfortable. Just a little, though. And Ali is giving her all, but this might be the first time I really heard the high, whiny quality one of you guys mentioned in a previous post. I mean, it's all very good by any measure, so I'm just nitpicking, but… not my favorite performance.

Chris loved Blake's dancing and thought his intensity was consistent. He gave Aylin points for keeping her voice up while moving around, and he praised Ali for being a character. But who's the winner? He picks all three of them. Awww, how sweet!

The last big number will be "Tonight, Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae and the concept will be high school prom. Aylin will be sneaking to prom against her parents' wishes, Blake will be popular but humble prom king and Ali will be the flirty mean girl. And each of the final three will get to choose their final performance song.

They go to choreography, which concludes with a big, group Zach hug.

Working with Nikki is next. At first, Blake is AWFUL. The piece is too high for him. Once that's adjusted, he's spot on. Next, Aylin hasn't learned the words. Ali knocks it out of the park, though, and impresses Nikki.

Time to remember Chris Colfer! Chris tells them that whatever song they choose, they should know they'll have to perform it FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. So, better like it.

The mentors talk about the finalists at the video shoot. Aylin has a great pop voice! But will she be able to handle the backlash over what she represents as a modern Muslim girl. They love Blake. He's so consistent! They think Ali is a consummate performer. But she's so vibrant she might look forced!

But wait! They need a special guest! It's Damian McGinty (Rory) from "Glee"!

In the video, I think Ali stands out -- as one of the writers had said during the acting challenge, she can play bitchy. But Aylin and Blake are good, too. I think they are actually a bit disadvantaged, as Blake doesn't have anything to work with, and Aylin's "character" is boiled down to her taking off a sweatshirt. If I had to guess, I'd say the video is meant to show off Ali's range and no one else's

Time for the final three to reveal their songs! Aylin chose "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. It gives her a chance to show both her sassy side and her vulnerability. Ali will be singing "Popular" from "Wicked." She thinks it reflects the bitchy thing she did in the video, and she wants Ryan to realize that character needs to be on "Glee." Blake is performing "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. He wants to show all the sides of Blake.

Robert assures them that no decision has been made yet, so their songs will be critical. I somehow doubt that, but that does guarantee some great performances.

The audience is loaded with cast members, former contestants, writers, you name it. Our final three muse on

Ali is up first. It's good, but her voice is just a little… grating. Blake is good, but then he reads a poem. Well, it works better as lyrics, really. Nikki and Robert cry. Ryan thinks it was brave and wonderful that he read a poem. And then there's Aylin. And wow. That was so good.

Time for the cast members to weigh in. Ali is a favorite. She's talented and there's a certain poignancy she can bring to a role given that we'll know she can't get up and walk. The writers like Blake. There are depths we can't see! It's the Blake and Ali show until Charlie tearfully tells Ryan that Aylin could bring an important element to the show! Then everyone talks about how great Aylin is. Let's just say there's no consensus and cut to the person who counts - Ryan.

But Ryan feels split, too.  And honestly, I do, too. I had been really rooting for Ali, but I thought Aylin's performance was just stunning. And hey, I do like Blake. He's definitely a leading man.

Ryan tells each of them why he likes them. Blake is a leader who's wildly impressive. Ali is wonderful and optimistic, plus he likes her Broadway sensibility. He tells Aylin she embodies something that is "Glee." Okay, okay, WHO WON?

The winner of "The Glee Project" season two is… Blake. REALLY? Seriously? Okay, now that he's won, I have to say I'm disappointed. As I said, I like Blake, but he was kind of a blank slate to me, and simply lacked the texture and interest of the girls. Yes, cute and totally competent -- but was he a star? I didn't see it, even if the writers and Ryan did. Did you?

What did you think of the results? Whose single would you buy? And do you think "Glee" is as good as it used to be?

    TOTALLY AGREE 100%

I hate Ryan's tendency to only cast pretty white guys to draw girls when Ali and Aylin were both clearly better. And it shouldn't be about how cute his poem was. If he couldn't convey all that through his performance, he shouldn't have won.

Laura This upset me so much! There are millions of Blake's out there. How many talented people who can sing and act will you come across that are in a wheelchair and Muslim? How many courageous Muslim women will take on the backlash of an entire culture? I don't understand how they let this slip by. Their decision was solely made on the dollar signs of the millions of screaming girls that will think he is hot. I am not one to usually get to invested in these shows emotionally, but I was very angry at this decision even. Surprise! Another football stud and good looking MALE won. Surprise!

Laura They found money in all the millions of screaming girls that will love him because he's hot. I idn't know the show was called, "Glee Idol.". We should reply on the actual "Glee Project" site. So disgusted!

Disappointed here too. I think Aylin would have been fun to watch and Ali would've been the best. Maybe Ryan has a thing for the guys. I thought Damien from Season 1 was terrible but even worse is Samuel I can't stand to watch him. Oh well...

I just hate this. Another reality show full of interesting and diverse people, all capably talented and still we end up with a WGWG (White Guy With Guitar). Ryan should be ashamed as the winner appears to be the antithesis of what Ryan claimed he wanted all season long. I feel deceived.

To be honest (and as much as I loathe to compliment the man) I think Ryan went in the opposite direction of last year. He hired the strongest actor. Ali is forced and overly theatrical but we love her anyway. Aylin, who sang beautifully, was always going to get shoe horned into a cliched Muslim caricature. Blake is a "blank slate" but has proved that they will have to create a character rather than use the person as a model. I prefer that. And in all honesty, the writers should be aiming to do that anyway.

SouthernAct Good actor? Really? Good? NO! One-note wonder, getting by on his looks and charm...Just because he is perhaps the best actor from this bunch of contestants does NOT mean he is actually a good actor!

Blake was who I would have picked if I had been Ryan. for one reason: He's obviously a star. And he's great with people, good singing, great acting. Blake. Never. Misses.

Agree. Blake was consistent but he never stood out for me. Last year's 7-episode winners ( Damian & Sam) were both guys, so I thought for sure a woman would win this time. The two women were far more interesting people. Blake is....bland and boring. Apparently Ryan wants a pretty face to look at. Too bad, because there's so many unemployed generically-handsome males out there who could have easily replaced Finn. Blake is just one of many. Blake also has been knocking around Hollywood already, auditioning. It's possible he has some type of connection to get him cast on the show as well. If so, then Glee Project is just going through the motions.

I knew Blake was going to win the minute Robert compared him to Jim Carrey. JIM CARREY, for God's sake!
Don't know if you guys remember, but it was early in the competition.

Let's face it: when Michael first auditioned, the judges told us that Ryan was looking for a new Finn. He is a good looking guy who has lots of charisma. Every girl she got paired with, there was chemistry. He first nailed by duetting with Nellie. And again with Ali. This is like a dream for the writers of Glee - someone who can date the entire cast one episode at the time.

Ali is very talent. And fierce. She has inspired me and could inspire way more people on the scripted show, but let's face it - could she be a Cheerious? I don't think so. They already has someone with a disability (Becky) who is kind of mean (and adorable IMO), a promiscuous girl on Brittany and a Sugar is a bitch. And we can't forget Artie and his wheelchair. She is what Glee represents (or tries to represent) but her character would be anything but fresh.

Aylin is awesome and I thought she was going to win until Charlie became her 'lawyer' and and foolishly pleaded his case - he basically suggested that by casting Aylin they could win a Peace Nobel Prize! I like the girl but not the 'muslin' girl character they would have written for her. It would be a huge stereotype. I hate how they talked about backlash already.

Can't a girl sing with other teenagers on a school club without being respectful to her religion? Can't they write a character who really HAS FAITH since they want to represent the religion? I don't get the purpose why every single character (who happens to be part of another culture and have a different religion) has to fight with his/her incomprehensive parents. If want to attack their faith, that's the way to go. But if you want to educate people you must have christians who are really christians, muslins who are really muslins, otherwise you're just being disrespectful.

I'm glad that Blake won. He deserved it. I think Lindsay and Alex should have won last year (although I was rooting for Cameron). This year, I felt in love with Nellie's voice. But Blake is a star, as they said - and if his character makes him justice, he may be able stole the show (now the scripted one).

Anyway, if season 4 of Glee is half as entertainning as this season of Glee Project, I'll watch all the episodes twice!

sauloccl Ow, how many mistakes I made. Well, here I am trying to correct some of these errors:

Paragraph 2: He = Blake on | *he got paired with
Paragraph 3: *talented | *already have
Paragraph 5: *if the point is to attack
      Paragraph 6: *able to steal
Paragraph 7: *of Glee Project was

sauloccl That's exactly what Diana said about Ali: she has an ability to enrich all the stories in a way that Kevin McHale never could. I agree with you both.

What I said is that they could write for her several different types of characters instead of "a promiscuous bitch" so she would not become a combination of Artie, Brittany and Becky.

2 seasons of Glee Project. 2 white male winners. Need I say more?

Please explain the diversity, inclusiveness, etc.. in that. If this is the direction they are going with Glee then I think I can skip it in the future.

sauloccl Damian is Irish. And Samuel is a hippie who lives in a tent or a van down by the river. Those peculiarities must count as diversity, right?
