The pre-season out-of-time-period return of "Grimm" won its hour with ease, but the less-than-huge premiere for "Stars Earn Stripes," plus a big audience for "Hell's Kitchen" let FOX end NBC's two-plus weeks of Olympics-driven primetime domination.
Among adults 18-49, FOX averaged a 2.3, knocking NBC down to second in the key demographic with a 1.8 rating. CBS averaged a 1.3 key demo rating, followed by the 1.1 rating for ABC. The CW averaged a 0.2 key demo rating for the night.
Overall, FOX averaged an estimated 5.79 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/5 share for Monday primetime, beating NBC's 3.1/5 and 5.33 million viewers and CBS' 3.2/5 and 4.91 million viewers. ABC averaged a 2.4/4 and 3.405 million viewers, with The CW averaged a 0.4/1 and 606,000 viewers.

The CW's repeat of a "Perez Hilton All-Access" special averaged 820,000 viewers and a 0.3 key demo rating.
9 p.m. - FOX comfortably took over the 9 p.m. hour with 6.46 million viewers and a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 for "Hell's Kitchen." August 14, 2012 at 12:28PM EST Reply to CommentI guess people weren't hooked by the countless olympic promos for both these NBC shows. The "borrowed audience" theory is proven right again. More depressing news for the peacock.
Martine Grimm is a great show, with a loyal audience. if they just leave it on Fridays it will do fine. I have no idea why you think its such bad new. Its really not news. the show isn't going to become CSI Miami or whatever just because you move it to a more "prime" spot. People need to let go of all this old thinking. Things have changed. They have a good show if they just leave things alone.

August 14, 2012 at 1:32PM EST Reply to CommentThats a show that does great on Fridays. Why not leave it there? Still 2.3 in 18 to 49 is quite good. i just hope they are not so stupid as to leave Grimm on any night other then Friday.

August 15, 2012 at 12:32PM EST Reply to CommentInteresting that cable is always left out of these reports... I think it is very interesting that the series finale of The Closer on TNT had over 9 million viewers and the premiere of Major Crimes did over 7 million. Those both beat everything from all the networks. They compete for Emmys, they should be in the ratings, too.
dan Warren - Yup. And when cable networks report Fast National ratings first thing in the morning at the same time the networks do, they'll be included! Cable networks pick and choose when they report ratings and often don't announce/report ratings at all. That's why they're not included in the morning ratings report.

August 19, 2012 at 12:11PM EST Reply to CommentLol, I'm sure glad YOU have the ability to keep all of these networks/shows/time-slots straight for us! I used to drive myself crazy with scheduling my DVR at the right time, but thankfully I have you and Prime Time Anytime do the work for me! I love that Hell's Kitchen has done so well, and as a former chef I can really admire the way Ramsay runs a kitchen. I work a crazy schedule at Dish, but my Prime Time Anytime feature on my new Hopper DVR has every prime time show, on ALL FOUR major networks, recorded and ready for me when I get home. This is the easiest it' ever been for finding, recording and enjoying my shows!
