The 'Dexter' season 7 preview pits brother against sister
Showtime drama returns September 30
Season 6 of Showtime's long-running "Dexter" ended on a cliffhanger with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) being caught by his own sister, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter).
Fans were left wondering how Deb would react and, more pressingly, just what extremes Dexter would go to in order to carry on his moonlighting gig as a compulsive serial killer.
A new preview, released today, gives viewers a peek at what will happen in the following season. Even with his secret out, Dexter is still Dexter, after all. As he stresses in the preview, "I need to be who I am!"
Watch the preview here:
The show also stars Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Vélez, David Zayas and James Remar. Season seven guest stars will include Jason Gedrick, Katia Winter and Santiago Cabrera, and special guest stars Ray Stevenson and Yvonne Strahovski.
The new season premieres on Showtime on September 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
What did you think of the preview? Are you excited for season 7?

August 16, 2012 at 2:24PM EST Reply to CommentThat looks good. However . . . If they just keep the status quo it will suck. I think there could be good moments, however the execution needs to be there. I have to imagine this changes the relationship between Dexter and Deb, although I in no way believe he is going to kill her. There is also no chance he gets caught. Not that I need, or even necessarily want, either of those to happen. However, at this point I am wondering how many ways there are to write the season.
Still, if they take the training wheels off and have good emotional impact, and let the relationship between Dexter & Deb run a natural course without the season ending in a soft reset, it could be great. Personally, I loved the Trinity Killer arc because of Dexter's personal loss, as well as the developed villain/nemesis, and how things fundamentally changed (or should have) for Dexter. I hope they do not focus on Deb while having a monster-of-the-week approach.
