Six years after we collectively decided to forget “Terminator: Salvation” ever happened, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back to resuscitate the franchise.

In the first full trailer for Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions “Terminator: Genisys,” Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) explains that somehow the Trousers of Time™ have split, and we’re in a new leg/reality now. One where Connor was raised by Schwarzengger’s T-800 and became a stone cold badass years before her alternate personality in the Prime timeline.

But some things never change, like time travel being super pro-nudity.

Once is a fresh idea. Twice is the beginning of a trend. As Hollywood scrapes the bottom of the nostalgia barrel, should we expect to see more franchises take the “Alternate Universe” plot twist in order to tell more stories with new actors in old roles?

"Terminator Genisys" hits theaters on July 1, 2015.
