The Austin-based South By Southwest conference is split into threes -- music, film and interactive -- but those always seem to bleed into each other, at least in terms of fun and new events to indulge in. Running March 7 - 16 this year, the SXSW 2014 is shaping up to be bigger, better and weirder than ever.

We break down some of these, with new event additions like the IFC Fairgrounds and the iTunes Festival; major speakers like Alejandro Jodorowsky, Jarvis Cocker and Edward Snowden; performances from comedians like Bill Cosby and "Portlandia's" Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein; flicks like "Boyhood," "Neighbors" and the original "Godzilla"; music stops from Kendrick Lamar, Willie Nelson and the Hold Steady; and just a couple other hidden (and apparent) highlights.
