(CBR) Even if he isn’t wearing tuxedos and drinking shaken-not-stirred martinis on the regular anymore, Pierce Brosnan remains firmly entrenched in the action world.

The former James Bond star is front and center in a new spy thriller called "The November Man," based on the novel franchise of the same name written by Bill Granger. Brosnan stars as Peter Devereaux, a former CIA operative who returns to action to settle a score against a former protege. The movie also stars another Bond veteran, Olga Kurylenko, who appeared opposite Daniel Craig in "Quantum of Solace."

"The November Man" hits theaters on Aug. 27.
