SAN DIEGO -- Mila Kunis and James Franco are quite close, both offscreen and onscreen for "Oz the Great and Powerful."

Kunis is a Comic-Con veteran even at 28, for projects from "Max Payne" to "The Book of Eli" to "Family Guy." But this time, it's personal: she spoke about her friend and frequent film-mate Franco and confirmed that they'll share a little broken romance in the flick.

"James is one of my best friends and has been for many years.  He's one of my favorite people to work with, always has been. We met in our early 20s... I love James," she said, explaining that their well-documented history will help in this filmmaking process. "There's a comfort with somebody."

Kunis also is comfortable with the source material, the 14 books L. Frank Baum wrote to tell the tale of Oz. She encouraged fans going into this new adaptation to put all preconceptions of witches aside.
