Melissa McCarthy says she'd star in 'Bridesmaids 2' or anything else Kristen Wiig wanted

Yes, she'd even act in a backyard production for her fellow comedian

At this point, Melissa McCarthy must be pretty used to (i.e. irritated by) people asking her about "Bridesmaids 2," but the newly-minted big-screen star took it like a champ when I asked her if she'd even be interested in returning for the hypothetical followup to the 2011 comedy blockbuster.

"I would do anything...if [co-writers] Kristen [Wiig] and Annie [Mumolo] wrote something, if it was like on the back of a napkin and they wanted me to perform it in the backyard, I would do it," said McCarthy, sitting down with me to discuss her upcoming comedy "Identity Thief" co-starring Jason Bateman. "But I'll let those ladies decide that."

Check out McCarthy in action in the video above, and stay tuned for my full interview with she and Bateman in the coming days.

"Identity Thief" is slated for release on February 8.

I'm okay (sort of) with the advertisements you guys are now running in front of longer interviews. But maybe for these 30 second clips, it would be better off NOT putting an ad in front of it that's longer that the actual content.
