Melissa McCarthy is certainly a legend in her own right. She earned an Emmy for "Mike and Molly" and an Oscar nomination for "Bridesmaids" in quick succession, but even she would admit that in her new movie "Tammy," she's surrounded by somehow huger legends -- Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Dan Aykroyd, and Allison Janney, just to name a few.

We caught up with the hilarious McCarthy to discuss the writing of "Tammy," the costar whose work she "carried around" in her pocket throughout her twenties, and that extravagant alter-ego of hers, Miss Y.

"Tammy" arrives in theaters July 2.
