Hit-Girl confined to a mental hospital? Poor mental hospital.

"Kick-Ass" co-creator Mark Millar teased a few details on the comic book series' upcoming third installment via his official Twitter account today, revealing that, among other things, lil' Miss Mindy Macready is headed for the looney bin.

"Kick-Ass 3 teasers: Hit-Girl locked up in psychiatric ward, Dave working in a comic store & superheroes illegal. Plus internet dating!" wrote Millar on Wednesday.

Those tidbits were preceded by a tweet in which Millar claimed that fans will get a first taste of the new book in February: "Been working like a bastard today and knackered. On the plus side, Kick-Ass 3 is looking brilliant. Preview next month."

Hit-Girl is currently the subject of her own five-issue spin-off series that begin publication last June and should wrap up sometime this year. In addition, the bloodletting heroine (as portrayed by Chloe Moretz) will reportedly be the main focus of the upcoming "Kick-Ass 2" movie's first 45 minutes.

Last September, Millar was hired as a creative consultant on 20th Century Fox's "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" movie franchises. Films to be covered under the deal include James Mangold's "The Wolverine," Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "Chronicle" director Josh Trank's upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot.

"Kick-Ass 2" is slated for release on June 28, 2013.
