NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ke$ha says she understands her hit song "Die Young" ''is now inappropriate" following the shootings in Newtown, Conn.
The pop singer said in a Twitter post Tuesday night that she's "so so so sorry" for anyone affected by the tragedy.
Earlier Tuesday, Ke$ha tweeted that she had her own issues with "Die Young" due to the lyrics, but that she was "FORCED TO" sing them. That tweet was deleted a short time later.
Ke$ha's spokesman said the 25-year-old had no comment Wednesday morning.
"Die Young" is intended as a party anthem and is No. 3 on this week's Billboard Hot 100 chart. But radio stations began to pull it and other songs with potentially upsetting lyrics after 27 people, including 20 children, were killed Friday at an elementary school.

January 13, 2013 at 3:33PM EST Reply to CommentBoo hoo. Its a song; she doesn't literally mean 'Die Young' like the shooting. People are way too freaking sensitive these days.
ThankU Amen not like she wrote it as a result of what happened JFC people and sensitivity lately GTF over yourselves. "You" are hundreds maybe even thousands of miles away, it wasn't your kid so you have only a little human compassion and grief, thoughts, prayers whatever you will for those who were truly affected by the tragedy. Otherwise STFU.
February 7, 2013 at 6:46PM ESTafp It isn't like she wrote anything to begin with...her songwriter did
February 18, 2013 at 2:46PM ESTErik I agree. It's rather sad really.. People find one thing similar to something bad and immediately begin pointing fingers like children. Grow up America. Please.
