Even Justin Timberlake’s lyric videos are fancier than other artists’.  The music clip for "Suit & Tie" featuring Jay-Z, which premiered this morning, could serve as a full-on video for the song instead of as the usual place-holder that most lyrics videos are.

[More after the jump...]

In the black and white clip (he is clearly working a theme with the black and white in promoting this project), we see Timberlake getting ready for a night on the town (or for a night in, if you know what I mean, based on the song lyrics, which scroll across the screen).

The sharp-dressed man, in the smartly photographed clip, goes into the studio as soon as he’s well dressed doffing a Sinatra-like fedora.

Toward the end, his date shows up. We barely see her face, but it doesn’t appear to be wife, Jessica Biel.

There’s a lot of smoke (the fatty in question in the lyrics is a cigar in the video) and some animation added into the mix.

While he’s channeling the Vegas-era Rat Pack, especially as he heads to the casino one other homage is undeniable. Instead of the appropriate black socks with his shoes, Timberlake is sporting white socks in a clear homage to another one of his musical heroes, Michael Jackson.

"Suit & Tie" is the first single from Timberlake's forthcoming album, "The 20/20 Experience."

The video flashes the album's release date for a fraction of a second (around the 5:20 mark), indicating that "20/20" will drop on March 19.

What do you think of the clip?

dance moves..definitely Michael Jackson...how he snaps his fingers and pop his head back..definitely MJ, lot's of paying homage to some of MJ's signature moves in this video, as well as Gene Kelly "singing in the rain" at the end.. Unfortunately, JT can't move nearly as good as MJ
