Gwyneth Paltrow tells Chris Eggertsen she hasn't heard from Marvel on a possible role for Pepper Potts in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Paltrow goes on to talk about Rescue and the transformation of her character in Iron Man 3.

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't believe we'll be seeing Pepper Potts in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." In fact, she didn't even know it was called "Age of Ultron."

"What is it called?" Paltrow asked me during our chat about the forthcoming sex-addiction dramedy "Thanks for Sharing," in which she stars opposite Mark "The Hulk" Ruffalo. "'Age of Ultron,' okay. Well, no, I don't think [I'll be in it]. I haven't heard phone has not rung for 'Avengers 2.'"

One other tidbit to note from our "Avengers"-related discussion is that my nerd credentials are painfully slight, as illustrated when I mistakenly referred to Pepper's alter-ego as "Rocket" instead of "Rescue."

"That would be fun," said Paltrow when I broached the topic of a hypothetical Rescue solo movie. "[But] I thought Rescue was her name."

Forehead slap!

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is slated for release on May 1, 2015.
