"Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt has a little advice for anyone looking to shed a few extra pounds.

"You can do it in six months, and all you have to do is book a Marvel movie and have a deadline that's like if you don't get [thin] then you might get fired," the actor, who's currently filming the role of Star-Lord in the intergalactic superhero movie, told HitFix at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. "Then it's easy!"

Speaking of weight loss, Pratt seemed to be feeling some regret over sending out the now-infamous photo of his new six-pack abs over Instagram earlier this month. Or at least, he did after his friends caught wind of it.

"I've never really felt any douchier than the day after I sent that photo out," he said. "I had all my friends tearing me apart on that one."

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is slated for release on August 1, 2014.
