That's a wrap for Brooks Wheelan.
The freshman "Saturday Night Live" cast member announced Monday that he won't be returning to the late-night series next season, telling fans that he "loved every second" of the experience via Twitter:
Had a blast and loved every second of it. I'm totally honored to be able to make this next joke... FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!— Brooks Wheelan (@brookswheelan) July 14, 2014
Wheelan joined the "SNL" cast last September as a featured player but ultimately struggled to break out despite recurring guest appearances on the show's "Weekend Update" segment (not to mention a very funny Jared Leto impression). Other celebrity impersonations for the comedian included Kid Rock, Harry Styles, Slash and Matthew McConaughey.
