Are Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig the holiday movie season's cutest couple?

Whatever the case, the pair definitely make a convincing match in Stiller's latest directorial effort "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," an update of the classic short story by James Thurber. Now Fox - in an effort to position the film as a "life-affirming" experience for holiday moviegoing audiences - has released an extended six-minute cut of the trailer, which features a closer look at the sorta-relationship between Walter (Stiller) and his love interest Cheryl (Wiig) and even more glimpses of Stiller engaging in extreme international activities as he attempts to track down a missing negative for the cover of LIFE magazine's final issue. As an added bonus, "Parks and Rec" regular Adam Scott sports an aggressively heinous beard as Walter's mean-spirited boss.

So what do you think of the new trailer? Are you sold, or is the studio laying things on too thick for your liking? Let us know in the comments.

"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" hits theaters on December 25.
