Our first look at the live action world is a dark and brooding one
Yesterday, Disney offered up a teaser poster for next year's "Maleficent" starring Angelina Jolie as the famed Disney villain. Now, today, they have given us the first look at the movie itself with a teaser trailer.
You can watch the trailer above, but just to provide a little insight first, the movie is being directed by Robert Stromberg and, in addition to Jolie, it also stars Elle Fanning, Imelda Staunton, Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, and more. It is a look at the "Sleeping Beauty" villain, from her point of view.
The majority of the trailer features a voiceover of what seems to be Fanning's Aurora talking to Maleficent out in the woods. Aurora is unaware of Maleficent's evil intentions, but, presumably, she'll work it all out before the end of the movie (but probably not without falling into a deep slumber first).
The brief glimpse we get a the world that has been created is impressive. From the trailer, it does look as though they have made a big attempt at translating an animated fairytale world into something live action.
Tell us what you think? Does the teaser pique your interest? Do you want to see more of Aurora and Maleficent's world?
"Maleficent" storms into theaters on May 30, 2014.
