If there's one surface characteristic that most defines Jon Lucas and Scott Moore's "21 & Over," it has to be the oodles and oodles of male nudity on display. Thankfully for co-star Sarah Wright, that didn't carry over to the film's female cast.
"When I read the script, I just kept waiting for that moment," said Wright when I sat down with she and co-star Skylar Astin to talk about the film. "Cause I was like, 'oh, I love the character.' And I kept going and I was like, 'oh my god, I love the story, and the writing is so funny!' Where's the part that I have to take my top off and show my boobs? And I was like, 'I don't! I'm so excited!' It was so great."
But hey, just because Wright doesn't bare her cleavage isn't to say that nobody else in the movie does. Assured Astin (smartly keeping his eye on those opening-weekend ticket sales): "There are some boobs in the movie, though, guys. There are some boobs in the movie."
"They're just not mine, sorry," shrugged Wright.
Also on tap when I spoke with the pair of on-screen lovebirds was the issue of Astin's naked wrestling scene with co-star Miles Teller in the film, which comes during a climactic confrontation in a college quad.
"I would be lying if I told you that our stunt guys didn't help out a little bit with that, just because when he [has] to pick him up and slam him on actual brick, I don't think our producers would've liked us actually doing that," Astin admitted. "But all the close-up stuff, we were really...I mean I had scratches, and I had like black-and-blue [marks], and...it was awkward, I mean it was really weird. Sometimes when we were tight we could kinda get away with wearing sweat pants. We had some rules and regulations."
As I've said before and I'll say again, in my opinion "21 & Over" is a fantastic little movie that deserves an audience, so please go and see it. It may not be a critical favorite, but you're guaranteed to have a good time and it has way more heart than your average college comedy.

"21 & Over" comes out this Friday.
