We don't want to write up some comparison like "It's the Oscars of the Music Industry," but it kind of is, isn't it? The annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place tonight, airing on CBS for those of you tuning in at home, and it promises to showcase the best that music had to offer last year. Expect to see your favorite singers, hear a whole bunch of great performances, and see many an award handed out.

As has at some point become tradition, rather than waking everyone up at an incredibly early hour, the nominees for the Grammy Awards will be announced during this nominations concert. The concert, set to air on CBS, promises to offer up some of the biggest talent around. The concert will air from 10pm to 11pm on CBS, and then the Grammys themselves will take place on January 26th at 8pm (please be aware that as of this writing, both events are live on the east coast and tape delayed for the west).

Although the movie awards season is in full swing, there is still plenty of time to stop, smell the roses, hear some tunes, and celebrate the best that the music industry had to offer us during the previous year (well, the year from Oct. 1, 2011 to Sept. 30, 2012 anyway). And, don't forget to keep checking back here for our coverage of the event.
