Liam Gallagher's new band is Liam Gallagher's old band, sans his older brother, Noel, and augmented by extra keys and bass (since Andy "formerly of Ride" Bell has moved back to guitar). If you liked Oasis, especially the slightly faded swagger of their latter years, then you'll love Oasis Mk. II. I mean, Beady Eye. You'll love Beady Eye. Judging by the three songs to have been released so far, Liam has delivered on promises made in recent interviews; this is more of the same. There's some Beatles' veneration, a sprinkle of "Instant Karma", a touch of the Faces, and a whole load of laddishness. If you find the whole thing uncomfortably reminiscent of Kula Shaker, that is not Beady Eye's problem.
Beady Eye's debut album is named Different Gear, Still Speeding (catch that elusively cheeky drug reference?) and has been trailed by the songs "Bring the Light", "The Roller", and current single "Four Letter Word".
