The remake of 'Red Dawn' may have some strong charisma on its side thanks to the casting of Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, and Josh Hutcherson, but poorly-shot action and a confused point-of-view end up hobbling it.

While there are narrative issues and some thin character work, 'Snow White and the Huntsman' does offer up a persuasive fantasy world that is richly imagined and realized, with a few performances elevating the material.
