A+By far, the film we're most excited about so far this year is Kenneth Lonergan's 'Manchester By The Sea,' a smart and beautifully cast film about grief that avoids all of the usual Sundance movie traps.
A-Nate Parker's historical drama 'The Birth of A Nation' is not just the biggest acquisitions deal of Sundance history, but also an absorbing and incendiary look at Nat Turner and the slave uprising he led in 1831.
B+Don Cheadle has been trying to get the Miles Davis story told onscreen for years, and 'Miles Ahead' is finally here. Handsomely made and impeccably performed, this isn't your standard issue biopic, and that seems appropriate considering who it's about.
