I stopped pretty much as soon as paths got crossed, and I'm dying to get back to the game. I love that I'm this on the hook, and I feel like things are still just warming up. This first shared mission for Trevor and Michael is both really gross at the start and also very sharply pointed in its mockery. Again... nothing subtle about what they're reacting to, the early "American Idol" episodes that exist mainly to mock the freakshow. How they handle things is a chance for the two of them to unite on the one thing that they both still agree on without having to directly deal with Michael's dishonesty or Trevor's unwanted arrival.
There are plenty of other characters in play in the game, but being able to be Franklin, Michael and Trevor has hooked me in a way that I wasn't expecting from "Grand Theft Auto V." Every time I encounter something in gaming that does something I haven't seen before and actually makes it work, I am impressed. I may not write about them the way I write about films, but games are important to me. I think they serve a very real purpose, and that they get more interesting and exciting all the time.
Wherever these three are headed for the rest of the game, I'm in.
