  Famed director and producer Steven Spielberg is the Jury President this year at the festival, which will be running from May 15th to May 26th.  One of the premiere film festivals in the world, the Cannes Film Festival regularly attracts big films and stars.

  This year's Cannes Film Festival is going to open with a screening of Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby."  The movie is being screened outside of the competition.  "Moulin Rouge" also opened the fest 12 years ago.

  The 2012 Cannes Film Festival begins today and runs through May 27.  "Moonrise Kingdom," Wes Anderson's latest film, is opening the festival and "Therese Desqueyroux," from Claude Miller, is being screened at the closing ceremony.
