Angels & Demons

Tom Hanks in 'Angels and Demons'

Critics tried to laugh "The Da Vinci Code" out of theaters, but audiences were having none of it. The Dan Brown adaptation made more than $750 million worldwide, so director Ron Howard and star Tom Hanks are back for the follow-up.

While "Angels and Demons" actually came before "The Da Vinci Code" as a book, it doesn't make much sense to thing of the new movie as either a prequel or sequel. All that matters is that Robert Langdon is back and he has a better haircut than last time.

The plot revolves around the death of a pope and a series of murders linked to the shadowy Illuminati.
