December 10, 2012 at 6:51PM EST Reply to CommentMichelle Williams! Rebel Wilson! Good on you, San Diego.
Someone needs to explain to me, though, how McConaughey is supporting in Killer Joe. (And Christoph Waltz in Django, for that matter.) Still, a bold choice. More of this kind of thing, please.
JLPatt And Philip Seymour Hoffman in "The Master." This is made all the stranger by the fact they put Helen Hunt in lead.
December 10, 2012 at 7:04PM ESTthekingbulletin His character is the title of the freaking movie for crying out loud! I agree, though -- any press is good press in this case.
December 11, 2012 at 12:36AM ESTTPeters Guy, Michelle Williams is always portraying the same downtrodden, wounded, and repressed female characters. Is their anything else than she can do ? Williams should at least strive for more range and versatility. She has become boring.
December 11, 2012 at 8:12AM ESTAs for Rebel Wilson, she has quickly been typecast as the annoying over-the-top chick that is sloppy. And, people consider that great acting ?

December 10, 2012 at 7:00PM EST Reply to CommentOnce again, "Perks" predicted for Adapted screenplay. I feeling better about that prediction.
DylanS I meant to say "nominated" instead of predicted.
December 10, 2012 at 7:01PM ESTJLPatt Fingers crossed. Nice to see them mention it for ensemble performance, also, although "Lincoln" missing there is just bizarre.
December 10, 2012 at 7:04PM ESTforg I really hope it can get a screenplay nod. For me that's their best (and only) shot for an Oscar nod
December 10, 2012 at 7:56PM ESTJLPatt Not giving up on Ezra Miller. Maybe a SAG nod this Wednesday...?

Guy Lodge Internal competition, notably from Waltz in a far larger role.

December 10, 2012 at 11:40PM EST Reply to CommentI think the Best Actor picks here are going to mirror the Oscar noms. I loved Denzel in Flight (his best since Training Day) but I think Bradley Cooper is going to take his spot (and deservedly so).
