Back in 2012, Netflix inked a huge deal which made them the exclusive U.S. subscription television service for first-run live-action and animated feature films from Walt Disney Studios and it's about to go into effect. But don't get too excited just yet.

From the original press release:

Beginning with its 2016 theatrically released feature films, new Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios and Disneynature titles will be made available for Netflix members to watch instantly in the pay TV window on multiple platforms, including television, tablets, computers and mobile phones. Also included in the agreement are high-profile Disney direct-to-video new releases, which will be made available on Netflix starting in 2013.

While reminding users what would be leaving and arriving Netflix in June, the company also reaffirmed the Disney deal yesterday saying "From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive US pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar." Ok, awesome, right? Sort of.

You may also remember Disney made a deal with Apple back in 2014 for their own streaming service Disney Movies Anywhere. That same year Netflix became the home of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the first time any Star Wars content would be available on the service). But it's important to remember the Disney/Netflix deal only starts with their 2016 releases. So Star Wars: The Force Awakens would not be included (Starz currently has those rights).

Disney’s 2016 movie includes Zootopia, The Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil War, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Finding Dory, their remake of Pete’s Dragon, Queen of Katwe, Marvel's Doctor Strange, Moana, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, among others.
