'Harry Potter' actor apparates to 'The Flash’s' Central City as a series regular
The DC Comics television universe has cast plenty of actors from other genre projects in the past (Doctor Who seemingly one of their favorites to pull from) but this time a student from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is headed to Central City to join The Flash for Season 3.
Felton will play Julian Dorn, a fellow CSI at the Central City Police Department who suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation.
Felton has been busy since his Harry Potter days with both film and television roles including Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Belle, and Murder in the First. Julian Dorn is not an established DC Comics character, but I'm excited to see how Felton fits in with The Flash gang. I also find it just a little bit amusing he's going from being at odds with one hero with a lightning-shaped scar to another hero with lightning as his symbol.
Meanwhile, fellow DCTV universe series Arrow has added Carly Pope to the cast, according to TV Insider. She'll play journalist Susan Williams in Season 5 who's headed from Coast City to Star City “looking to make a name for herself” going after new Mayor Oliver Queen. Now this one is an established character. DC fans might recognize the name as the woman married to Jim Jordan, brother of Green Lantern Hal Jordan. I'm sure the DCTV universe isn't ready to bringing an actual Green Lantern Corps member into the fold just yet, but it's a nice nod.
The Flash is set to premiere Tuesday, October 4 while Arrow will follow up with its premiere the next night. You can check out all The CW's Fall premiere dates here.
