What if the “X-Men” had taken place in the past and instead of Professor Xavier, the children had been taken in by a Victorian-esque lady with a secret? That’s the premise of “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.”

Based on the best-selling novel by Ransom Riggs, “Miss Peregrine’s” is basically a kid-friendly introduction to the macabre. So it seems fitting the first teaser has a slightly ominous undertone (since “Fallout” one can’t hear 1940s music without unease).

Happy Looper Day!*

*Looper Day is a special holiday celebrated by the children under Miss Peregrine’s care every September 3rd.
