Party Down: The Movie
Background: It's become de rigueur for fans to beg and plead for a film adaptation every time a cult TV show is cancelled before its time (see also: "Arrested Development"), and Starz's short-lived "Party Down" is no exception.
Current Status: Seems like wishful thinking more than anything else. While the comedy has certainly grown in stature since signing off in 2010, and had a gaggle of big names and rising stars involved (co-creators Paul Rudd and Rob Thomas, stars Jane Lynch, Lizzy Caplan, Adam Scott, etc), "Party Down" is still largely a cult item. Beyond a few hopeful statements from Thomas and his cast members, there hasn't been any official word about a film version. It would be great to check in on the characters again at some point, but a feature just doesn't seem to be a viable prospect.
