Background: In 1995, rising star Jim Carrey teamed with Jeff Daniels to create two of the most hilariously dim bulbs in movie history with co-directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly. An inferior prequel (with younger actors impersonating Carrey and Daniels) sunk like a stone in 2003, but rumors persisted that the original's poignant comic team would someday reunite for a sequel. Earlier this year, those rumors started to become a reality with the announcement of "Dumb and Dumber To."

Current status: That reality is now apparently dead. Although Carrey, Daniels and the Farrelly Brothers were all championing a sequel, New Line executives allegedly had concerns (talk about a dumb move). Fed up with their lack of enthusiasm, a frustrated Carrey walked away. Daniels soon declared it officially dead. Oh well, we'll always have Aspen -- where the beer flows like wine.
