The fantasy elements in season one were pretty subdued, but the ominous design of the Wall (as it's simply known) and the Nightwatch who guard it continue to be something of a mystery. Besides some human scavengers known as the Wildlings who cause havoc raiding the kingdoms every once and awhile, viewers know there is dark magic and evil creatures living in the land north of the Wall. The legendary White Walkers are believed to be just creatures of myth, but season one provided signs that after centuries of staying hidden they are ready to venture south again pounce on the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Something ominously suggests we're about to find out a lot more about the Walkers in season two.
