Why we're ecstatic 'Game of Thrones' is back
It's been nine months since we last voyaged to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, but HBO's critically adored fantasy series is finally returning to make Sunday nights must-see TV again. HitFix's Alan Sepinwall has already enthusiastically reviewed the season two premiere, but the rest of the editorial team is chomping at the bit to find out just who is going to sit on the Iron Throne by season's end. Plus, just how fast can those dragons grow up? With that in mind, here are a slew of non-spoiler reasons we're thrilled "Game of Thrones" is back.

brock Nope, but she's more the Queen than the real one by any means. Martin alluded to that numerous times.

March 31, 2012 at 7:04PM EST Reply to CommentAre Stannis and Melisandre married in the TV version (as #5 says)? They aren't in the books--she's his adviser, though they are sexually involved, albeit only sort of and in a super disturbing way.
Nope. That was a mistake. Her name was also misspelled. Fixed!

March 31, 2012 at 9:00PM EST Reply to CommentDaenerys standing up with her three dragon babies is probably one of my all time favorite images from a TV series. What a way to end the first season.
Season 1 was awesome, season 2 should be even better with all the new characters and plot points.

April 1, 2012 at 2:27AM EST Reply to CommentA Clash of Kings and hopefully season 2 was all about Arya and Tyrion. Their finest moments in the series imo. I'm very interested in watching the Kingslayer start to become a true anti-hero as his storyline seems to be one of them accelerated ones of the tv show.

April 1, 2012 at 7:30AM EST Reply to CommentYes Margaery Tyrell iss very soft and different in the books but we need to realise that that description is the point of view of other characters..it is hinted many times throughout the books that Margaery is not an angel and infact almost like Cersei but more clever..I cant wait for Natalie Dormer as Margaery..i think she would be the breakout role of the season besides Tyrion and Sandor and maybe garner some emmy nod

April 1, 2012 at 10:23AM EST Reply to CommentThe killing isn't at the same time as got... Mad men is
Sareeta Wrong. The Killing 2-hour season premier is 8:00 (7:00 Central) followed by Mad Men at its usual time at 10 (9 Central). The Killing's normal time is 9:00 on Sundays, same as Game of Thrones.

April 1, 2012 at 1:04PM EST Reply to CommentThe books are written by a hack and the show is a terrible reflection of the authors drivel. Hate Fire and Ice. You don't know a good story if you think this qualifies as one.
Josh Who cares what you think? Go whine somewhere else.

WHY NOBODY ON HITFIX HAS GIVEN ANY ATTENTION ON SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE SEASON FINALE!!!!!! ONE OF the best executed show on tv... Shame on you hitfix, all other tv news pages have praised the show and reviewed , only you have not made any notice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OSISKARS - YES!!!! SHAME ON US FOR HAVING DIFFERENT OPINIONS AND FOR NOT LIKING A SHOW YOU LIKE!!!!
April 1, 2012 at 9:04PM ESTDAMN US TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

osiskars So ,is it just that you (hitfix) don't approve the show? Well, ok , so basically you don't have any writer that watches it? or is it just your policy not to care about it? ... I just though that hitfix.com is not a subjective blog but a entertainment site that does not discriminate different shows...
April 2, 2012 at 4:44PM ESTWell that is great Mr.Fienberg . If you do not like the show , that is marvelous , I am just asking that you mention it . It seems that you have opinion, say it . That is what you journalists are supposed to do right? write a short article about dissing the show and its done .. let the fans or anti fans discuss that further ...
dan OSISKARS - I wrote about the show when I watched the opening stretch of episodes and didn't like them. I had no desire to continue to watch. Sepinwall did not like the show either and didn't continue to watch. Respecting the interest that some viewers had in the show, we ran a pair of excellent interviews by Ryan McGee before the start of the show so as to make sure that we had coverage acknowledging the return of the show. That was us mentioning and recognizing the show.
April 2, 2012 at 5:46PM ESTBut if nobody on the staff watches the show, there's no point to one of us writing an ill-informed finale-anything about a show that we don't write about. The site is an entertainment site and that's why when there's "Spartacus" news, we cover it thoroughly. But Alan's blog covers shows he cares about. My blog covers shows I care about. We don't cover "NCIS." We don't cover "Supernatural." We don't cover "The Biggest Loser." [Among many other shows that we cover on a news level, but not an opinion level.] It just happens we don't have things to say about "Spartacus" because it isn't a show we like/care about so it doesn't get coverage on our blogs, even if it DOES get coverage on the site. I'm not sure why you'd be eager for half-assed coverage.

osiskars Ok, I understand . Thanks for the explanation. My apologies for being so harsh and aggressive.
April 3, 2012 at 11:20PM ESTI just thought maybe somebody has missed it or I don't know ,just wanted to know why there isn't any reviews, because it seemed that at the start of the season you posted a lot of news about it . I hope you understand my surprise as well, I must have missed the first reviews where you must have mentioned , you wont continue to post any articles...
I totally understand the huge amount of work you guys have to do , and the amount of tv shows you watch.
I am truly sorry if I hurt anyone's feeling or hitfix reputation :) . Its still my number one page for tv news :)
