Johnny Depp

Why he'd be good: He can do anything by now, and audiences might like to see him sans pirate accessories.

Why not: Is it too similar to "Blow," in which Depp played real-life drug kingpin George Jung? Depp also played John Dillinger in Michael Mann's recent "Public Enemies."

Without question: I should play the next Scarface. I even have a scar on my face. LOL Actually true. I was doing some body work on a car and the grinder got bound up in the fender well. It jerked out of my hand, ran up the fender and instantly ripped my face open. My girlfriend at the time said; 'Dang! You were hot before, but now you look meaner and hotter than ever. By the way ladies; 'this is the right answer'.
Back to the 'me' being perfect for this part, I would be perfect for any part. I am a great actor. Almost as good as I am 'a writer'. ;-) I always imagine that the screen is simply 'the world's mirror' and as long as you can clearly reflect the world back to itself, then you 'as an actor' have done your job.

That isn't a "reboot", it's a plain old remake. You can reboot a franchise, but not a stand-alone movie.

Um... No one. "Holywood" should learn to turn out something original instead of remaking, franchising, and rebooting established franchises. Tough to think of a movie that needs a remake less than Scarface.

What about forest whitaker, denzel washington, or russell crowe for scarface. 3 of the best actors of this generation.

The "new" Scarface should be Lucas Black! I think he'd be perfect!

How about Danny Reeking. He has done time, has a unique bad guy look. Pure attitude. Hate to see scarface remade, but he could pull off a character like scarface.

If it's not Benicio del Toro or Javier Bardem then something is wrong with this world! ;)

dominic Benicio del Toro would kill it. But I would accept Bardem as well, anyone else and the movie will be a failure, in my opinion.

Oh yeah sounds like a great idea considering all the acting talent out there... No one will turn in a performance worthy of replacing Al Pacino. This movie is defined through a single actor who is arguably the greatest of all time, lets not destroy a classic.

I agree Tiddly, Ryan Seacrest would be awesome. I hear he has been looking for a role such as this to expand his talents. And if the movie is PG-13 it would kill at the box office.

Poetry has been called art of ‘sweet excesses’. Excess is a key ingredient of any aesthetic experience. Mastering this art of excess is virtuosity and Al Pacino is a true virtuoso.
