Why he'd be good: T.I.'s hard-knock background and street cred make him a solid choice for the part on the surface, but can the rapper actually act? Well-received roles in "ATL" and "Takers" suggest that he can, but his limited experience as a thespian would probably hurt his chances for scoring the lead part in such a high-profile studio project. Nevertheless, given the '83 film's enormous popularity within the hip-hop community, the casting of T.I. could also be seen as a highly marketable strategy, depending on which way they decide to go.
Why not: If only he could stay out of trouble with the law long enough to make another film...
