Best Known For: "Good Will Hunting"

Pro: The legendary filmmaker is an American independent film pioneer who has also been nominated for two Academy Awards for his films "Good Will Hunting" and "Milk."  He's jumped between indie and Hollywood films slickly and easily.  His pedigree would make stars such as Lawrence and Woody Harrelson confident in the production.

Con: His last film, "Restless," was panned and he's infamously known for showing up for a meeting to possibly discuss directing "Breaking Dawn" having not read the books or done any research on the project.  That might not endear him to the production people at Lionsgate who were formerly at Summit Entertainment.
