Cannes Film Festival 2013

Which stars got suckered into presenting at the 84th Academy Awards?

What do Muppets, Bridesmaids and Tom Hanks have in common?

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis

What they're shilling: The duo have supporting roles in "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie", which is getting a limited theatrical run on March 2nd (it's already been released via VOD and on iTunes), though their late-summer comedy "The Campaign" (formerly known as "Dog Fight") is the more obvious focus. More imminently, Ferrell's Spanish-language comedy "Casa de mi Padre" will see release on March 16th.

Nominations and wins: None, though they're comedians...which, you know, is so much easier than being a dramatic actor. Right, Academy?

Lowdown: The Ferrell/Galifianakis team-up in "The Campaign" will hopefully mint some comedy gold in theaters this summer, and hitting the stage in the guises of their respective characters (goofball Southern politicians vying for the same Congressional seat) would be a perfect and very high-profile way to kick off the film's marketing campaign. The Academy is also lucky to have them, in that the two funnymen can be counted on to provide some much-needed comic relief during the inevitably stale and long-winded three-hour ceremony.
