  • Don't forget about the film adaptations of his terrific vampire novel series, 'The Strain', 'The Fall', and 'The Rise'.

    1) Will people see Tom Cruise in a movie? What happened with Knight and Day?

    2) Why can't James Cameron just produce the movie himself?

Ahnult Cameron could fund it instantly with his pocket change, but he's smart. It's a $150 million 'R' rated VFX fest and almost a guaranteed money loser. No sane person would lay down $150 million of their own money for a movie unless the title has 'Star Wars' in it and their name is George Lucas.

I think we will see Both Hobbit movies before we see anything actually directed by del Toro. I'm glad he's off The Hobbit. I haven't really enjoyed any of his movies. Especially the Hellboy films. Hellboy is my favorite comic series ever and both those movies kind of blew. The animated ones were crap too

john walton have you not seen his Spanish films? They're nothing like his Hollywood films. I didn't care for the Hellboy films but they had the benefit of great production, and some very solid performances. They just fell apart in terms of character and connection to the original material. I was disappointed he left the Hobbit, he could've done some great work with that material.

I hate that "At The Mountains of Madness" was canned but "Rise of the Guardians" gets the green light. "Legend of the Guardians" was crap, but god forbid hollywood green light an original idea.

I wish Cameron would just grow a pair and fund ATMOM himself with what would only be a minuscule fraction of what he got from that steaming load Avatar. If he gets to make a laughably terrible movie with a plot your average 9 year old could top and make an incalculable amount of money from it, the least he could do to make up for that travesty of a movie is help someone else make an actually GOOD movie. Something Cameron couldn't do to save his live, something original and never seen before in cinema, rather than a one massive tumor of predictability and cliches like Avatar.
However, I do place blame on Del Toro for the R rating, if he could just tweak the script and bring it down to a PG-13, this whole mess might have been avoided. There's really no reason whatsoever that ATMOM needs to be rated R, the story has no blood or violence or sex or cursing.
