Be honest: Did you know that FX aired full seasons of new comedies starring Kelsey Grammer, Martin Lawrence and George Lopez this year? I didn't watch any of the 43 -- YES. 43!!! -- episodes of "Anger Management" that FX aired this year, so I can't mock it. It might have been awesome. I did, however, watch a few episodes of Lopez's "Saint George" and four episodes of Lawrence & Grammer's "Partners," so they're fair play for at least a dishonorable mention. And speaking of "fair," "Partners" was almost certainly the better of the two Debmar-Mercury productions, which could have trigger Back-90 orders (like "Anger Management") had they been successful. They were not. "Partners" was just a flaccid mismatched buddy comedy and occasionally Grammer's deadpan delivery or Lawrence's manic energy would get a laugh. That's more than could be said for "Saint George," which was an astounding assemblage of stereotyping and little else. FX would probably prefer you not associate any of these Debmar-Mercury cheapos with the network's actual comedy brand. Oh well.
