BubbleWatch: CBS' 'Harper's Island'
SHOW: "Harper's Island"
IN ITS FAVOR: CBS seems to think the "Harper's Island" numbers from DVR and online downloads are strong. The premise offers the ability to recast from scratch every season and to keep actors on limited contracts, which lowers costs. Despite week-to-week diminished ratings, "Harper's Island" might have been a hit (or at least a low-level respectable player) on several other networks.
AGAINST IT: No matter how CBS spins it, you don't move a show to Saturday night if you have any confidence that it can succeed either in the short-term or the long-term. The ratings for actual televised airings weren't even respectable in young adult demos.
OUR GUESS: "Harper's Island" will not be back, but maybe CBS will follow-through on its plan to air all remaining episodes, so that viewers can at least find out who the killer was.
