What does the future hold for 'Agents of 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' and 'Bones' and more?
BubbleWatch: CBS' 'The Odd Couple'
SHOW: "The Odd Couple" (CBS)
IN ITS FAVOR: CBS has worked aggressively to push the impression that "The Odd Couple" is a hit. The network has boasted so loudly about its new comedy hit that it would be funny for CBS to turn around and quietly cancel "The Odd Couple."
AGAINST IT: If we're being completely honest, it's really not close to a hit. It's a "Big Bang Theory"-boosted illusion that will help CBS avoid a wash-out comedy year and will allow Matthew Perry to have his first post-"Friends" renewal, but if CBS thinks that "The Odd Couple" will move to a non-8:30 Thursday time period next fall and succeed, my only two words are "The" and "Millers."
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: CBS has VERY little comedy development going this spring, so even if the network decides to pick up half of its sitcom pilots, "The Odd Couple" will still be necessary to fill scheduling space either in the fall or midseason. It'll be back.
FINAL VERDICT: Renewed!
