Which shows won't make it back?
BubbleWatch: 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
SHOW: "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (ABC)
IN ITS FAVOR: No, it hasn't been the game-changing smash that ABC and Marvel must've been hoping for when it was ordered. But 7.4 million viewers and a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49 for Live+Same Day viewing (inflated by early-season numbers) aren't bad and that 18-49 figure rises 62 percent with Live+7 DVR use, while the overall audience goes up 48 percent. Plus, every week, ABC tells me that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is winning its hour among men 18-34. While integration with the Marvel movie universe has been slow, "Captain America 2" has definite implications on the series and vice versa. You also can't put a price tag on the ability to have this platform available for advertising and promotion when Marvel and ABC desire.
AGAINST IT: Disappointment. That's about it. The only reason to think "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." won't be back is because you think it should have done better or you think it should be better, creatively. Those things may be true, but they aren't even barely relevant.
OUR TOTALLY UNINFORMED GUESS: That "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." isn't a juggernaut for ABC is one thing, but it's still a success and a valuable piece of corporate strategy. It'll be back.
FINAL VERDICT: Renewed!
